Our campsite being located in Saint-Aulaye, Terre de Frontières between Charente, Gironde and Périgord, its location will allow you to radiate and satisfy your curiosity, your desires as well as those of your loved ones: hiking in one of the most beautiful forests in Dordogne which extends over 55,000 ha, discovery of the most beautiful castles , circuit of Romanesque churches , encounter with prehistory, tasting of great vintages and why not a day by the sea…. La Dordogne Verte campsite has the charm of a small village integrated at the foot of a bastide, bordered and surrounded by the Dronne , which delimits the Dordogne from the neighboring Charente with the listed village of Aubeterre sur Dronne .
Cultural Heritage
The Périgord Vert contains magnificent Renaissance castles such as the Château de Jumilhac, nestled in the Périgord-Limousin regional natural park. This fortress built at the beginning of the 17th century and classified as a historic monument is distinguished by its high roofs, its harmonious lines, its Louis XIII staircase and its French gardens. Remember to also include in your program of activities during your camping stay in Saint-Aulaye the visit of the abbey of Brantôme which has the oldest bell tower in France, the cave of Beaussac with its capricious concretions, the abbey of Boschaud , the Villars cave and the Château de la Chapelle Faucher in the Côle valley.
