A “green ” campsite in Périgord for great outdoor holidays
At just 7km from Aubeterre sur Dronne, classified as one of the most beautiful village in France, the Dordogne Verte campsite is surrounded by the Dronne. Saint Aulaye is located in one of the most beautiful forests of Périgord, covering 55,000 hectares: the forest de la Double (is also known locally as the Petite Sologne). The surrounding lakes offer a haven for the flora and fauna unique to this region. The great diversity of vegetation, aromatic plants and gardens is a delight to our senses.
Walking and Cycling Trails
The forest has numerous trails for hiking/walking, horse riding and mountain bikes: these marked trails follow shady paths amidst hundred-year-old oak, pine and chestnut trees. Maps and trail guides of the Saint-Aulaye area are available from reception, bike hire is also possible.
After your sport why not cool off in the Dronne, (the river encircles the fortified town of Saint Aulaye) or discover the Grand Etang de La Jemaye, which is only about 15 kms away. La Jemaye provides safe swimming areas and a relaxing, natural setting for fishing enthusiasts.
